I bought a bag of your raw almonds. It looks great. But may I know how do you pasteurize them? I mean by which method. Can I eat them directly? Or do I need to bake them?
Thanks.
Hi Rachel,
Our almonds use a steam process to pasteuzie the almonds.
They can be eatten raw, right out of the bag.
Have a nice day,

That’s great to hear! Appreciate you steering clear of any possibly-carcinogenic PPO pasteurization.
I have heard that most almonds are treated with POP, a known carcinogenic. This came about after a salmonella problem with almonds. Do you use this process?
Where can this size of bag be purchased in Nanaimo, BC. Tried buying some at Thrifty’s but the bag is half the size but still the same price!
Hi Linda
It looks like not many places in Nanaimo carry this item. Country Grocer at 82-12th Street have ordered it. I would suggest going to Country Grocer and requesting them to bring in this product for you if they are sold out.
Hope this helps!
Can I get this bag size in Calgary, AB, Canada?
Where?
I just purchased a jumbo bag of Raw Almond from London Drug in New West and the almond are not crunchy… kinda soft but the expiration date is 2018 AL 27. Is this how Dan D Pak’s almond suppose to taste like? Or something is wrong with the bag i bought?
May
Hi May
Raw almonds are quite soft. If you are looking for a crunchy almond, we have a selection of roasted almonds that come in different flavours including salt, unsalted, honey roasted, salt and pepper, and hickory smoked.
Thanks for your continued interest in Dan-D-Pak products.
Yesterday, I bought a Dan-D-Pak bag of almonds at Thrifty Foods in North Vancouver. The package is identical to your jumbo pack, but in the lower right front corner, the bag is factory-computer-stamped with a weight of 650 grams/Lot # 17060,BB/MA date of 2019 MR 01. When I scale weighed the almonds, the net weight was 550 grams not 650. On my Thrifty receipt, they listed your almonds as “Bulk Raw Almonds,” not by brand, nor listing any weight or price per 100 grams, simply indicating that I saved $4.00 on my purchase price of $15.99. But since I received 100 grams less than the net weight printed on the Dan-D-Pak bag, my savings were not as advertised. At the point of sale, Thrifty’s listed the sale price per 100 grams as $2.46, based on the weight your company printed on the bag, but the actual cost per 100 grams of the almonds in the bag was $2.90–based on Thrifty’s advertised price. Can you explain your company’s role in this? I have been buying your company’s nuts for decades, and I’d like to retain my confidence in your products. Thank you.
Hello,
I frequently buy the 2.5lb bag of raw almonds because the are a part of my daily diet.
I understand they are a natural product and some blemishes and damages are expected.
BUT in the bag i currently have now, that i am half way through it have noticed a lot of what appeared to be insect damage. Today at lunch through my suspicion i bit one of the almonds in half that had a clear entry and exit hole from an insect and to my disgust there was a dried up larva. It was preserved likely from the pasteurization process but it was pretty gross now thinking about all the almonds that i had just eaten without giving much thought to that could have also had dried larva hiding inside.
The bar code on the package is 7 70795 04830 2
This product is not cheap and i am wondering if there is any money back guarantee for my less then appetizing package of “raw almonds”.
Thanks,
