  1. I am quite puzzled… just bought this pack of almonds from you guys – it says “raw, crues” on the front, but on the back, the list of ingredients says “pasteurized almonds”!!

    How can you possibly claim that a product is raw when it’s been subjected to the kind of heat used to pasteurize foodstuffs? Isn’t there some kind of standardisation while using some description like “raw”? I find it quite misleading!!

      Please be informed that the packaging of the above product meets FDA (UA Food & Drug administration) standards, in which the FDA has determined that ‘raw almonds, whether treated via the steam or PPO methods or untreated, may be labeled raw under FDA guidelines.’
      Pasteurization through steam processing (surface treatment only) is an integral and final step in the food safety practice and is common throughout the almond industry. Unpasteurized almonds may cause health issues, such as salmonella poisoning. Steam processing (the short bursts of steam) do not impact the nutritional integrity of the almond. This treatment does not “cook” proteins or destroy vitamins and minerals. The nutritional and sensory characteristics of the almonds remain unchanged when treated with steam.

  3. HI there,

    Can you please let me know where the Raw Almonds come from and how they are processed before packaging? I need to know if the non-organic almonds are rinsed with any chemical or preservative.

    • Hi Alexandra,

      Our raw almonds are from California. The raw almonds are pasteurized using a Steam Heat Process. There are no preservative or chemical additives in this product.

  4. Hi,
    Could you please tell me which method you use for pasteurizing…is it steam only, or is it ppo? Does it depend on which farmers you purchase off of? Hoping it’s just steam, I love your products and the fair price! thank you. Kim

  5. May i inquire best before expiration for product i just bought from the shop. It states: almonds raw 650g lot 7114019 best before: 2 4/AL/2016. I hope this is still ok for consumption. Thanks.
