Green Split Pea Soup
400g Dan-D-Pak™ Green Split Peas
1 Ltr water
1 can chicken broth
1 cup half & half cream
1/2 tsp Dan-D-PakTM Parsley Flakes
salt & pepper to taste
Directions: Wash and clean Dan-D-Pak™ Green Split Peas. Soak
in the water for 30 minutes. In a soup kettle over high heat, bring the water to boil. Stir in the split peas. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, or until the peas are tender. Remove the kettle from the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
In a blender, blend the cooked peas, with its liquid, until smooth. Pour the blended peas back to the kettle. Stir in the chicken broth and cream, and cook over low heat till the ingredients mix well. Stir often during the cooking process. Add in Dan-D-Pak Parsley Flakes and salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with bread or crackers.
